ABSTRACT

Political censorship is a contentious issue that has been the subject of debate for decades. It is the act of suppressing or restricting information that is deemed politically sensitive or controversial by the government or other powerful entities. This can be accomplished by various means, including restricting media access, controlling information flows, and limiting freedom of expression. Political censorship has been used by governments around the world to maintain power, control information, and suppress dissent. In this article, we will explore political censorship around the world, including its historical context, methods of censorship, current examples, and the impact it has on society. Also, we study the censorship statutes in India along with incidents.
