Vijay Kirti Sheel, LLM, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University

ABSTRACT

Labour relation is the process in which how the grievances of the employees are taken into consideration and worked upon. Labour relation is important in many ways and in many cases. Through this paper we sought out how labour relations are used in the current scenario, how is it important and why. Labour laws emerged when the employers tried to restrict powers of workers organisation and keep labour costs low. The history of labour legislations in India can be traced back to the history of British Colonialism. We learn that labour relation policies and way of handling labour related problems are quite different and contradicting to the big organisations. There was an informal set of rules and regulations formed which could change according to the owner. Unlike organised and systematic organisations, the labour related issued where handled quite differently.
