ABSTRACT
The right to a fast and fair trial is fundamental in justice systems globally, ensuring due process and protecting human rights. This article explores this right's conceptual framework, historical evolution, provisions, and challenges. It examines India's legal framework, including constitutional provisions and judicial interpretations, emphasizing the importance of legislative measures. International human rights perspectives are analyzed, affirming trial rights as integral to human dignity and justice. Socio-legal aspects, such as socio-economic influences on access to justice and public perception of trial rights, are discussed. The experiences of gender, minority, and vulnerable groups in the legal system are also explored. Additionally, the article addresses the intersection of law, politics, and media in trial processes. Through this analysis, the article underscores the significance of collective efforts in upholding the rule of law and ensuring equitable access to justice.
