Advancing A Coordinated And Comprehensive Approach To Refugee Protection And Solutions: A Systematic Study

ABSTRACT


The Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) marks a pivotal milestone in international efforts to address the escalating global refugee crisis. Adopted during the United Nations General Assembly in 2018, the GCR seeks to provide a coherent, collaborative, and innovative framework for addressing the challenges faced by refugees and the countries that host them.


This abstract delves into the key elements of the Global Compact on Refugees, examining its objectives, principles, and strategies. The research paper acknowledges the undeniable reality of increasing forced displacement worldwide, with millions of people fleeing persecution, conflict, violence, and other forms of human rights abuses. The paper aims to strengthen the international response to such crises, emphasizing a more predictable and equitable sharing of responsibilities among countries.


The paper emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach that extends beyond the provision of immediate humanitarian assistance, encompassing longer-term development efforts and durable solutions for refugees, such as voluntary repatriation, local integration, and resettlement


This paper also discusses the progress and challenges encountered in the implementation of the Global Compact on Refugees in the years following its adoption. In conclusion, the Research paper represents a significant step forward in forging a more coordinated and compassionate response to the refugee crisis by advancing equitable burden-sharing, fostering collaboration, and promoting durable solutions.
