Priyansi Panigrahi, Xavier Law School, XIM University Bhubaneswar, Odisha

ABSTRACT

This paper addresses the need to ensure digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities in an increasingly digitalized world. It discusses the barriers to accessibility and the legal frameworks, such as the UNCRPD and India's Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, that mandate creating barrier- free digital environments. The paper also examines the technical standards and guidelines for accessible design, as well as the social and ethical implications of digital inclusivity. It highlights the benefits of universally accessible technologies and aims to contribute to a more equitable and accessible digital world for all users.
