ABSTRACT

This Article gives a brief about the concept of Divorce under Hindu law in India. The article briefs on how the concept of divorce emerged in India. It explains a lot of theories associated with the concept of divorce. This article also dives into a societal perspective on the concept of divorce from early times till the modern era. It especially deals with how the concept of divorce is dealt under the Hindu Marriage Act,1955. This article also explains about the grounds of divorce under the act and also on how the wife is entitled to file for divorce under special circumstances under the act.
