ABSTRACT
This paper analyses the issue of LGBTQIA+ refugees fleeing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex characteristics. It examines the key causes of refugee migration, focusing on Afghanistan, Syria, Venezuela, Ukraine, and Sudan. It emphasizes the unique vulnerabilities and psychological issues that LGBTQIA+ refugees encounter, such as trauma and prejudice in both their home countries and host countries. Legal frameworks and significant case laws influencing LGBTQIA+ rights are examined, highlighting progress and current obstacles. Finally, this paper presents legal reforms, international lobbying, and community assistance to better safeguard LGBTQIA+ refugees and guarantee their rights are respected around the world.
