ABSTRACT
The combination of women and intellectual property is a new emergence into the realm of Law. The innovations which had been contributed by women into Intellectual property have been significant and there is a necessity in admitting their role as equal to men. This article delves into the role of women concerning intellectual property and addresses the difficulties faced by women in the arena of Intellectual property. It also addresses the recent developments, contributions and opportunities that are offered to the women to uplift the women from being underrepresented.
The study also focuses on drawing attention to the efforts made by international organisations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and other organisations in acknowledging the issue. The study analyses the existing gender gap between men and women in Intellectual property and provides solutions to systematically dissolve any such issue.
The paper concludes by giving proposals for legal change and activities to increase women's involvement and success in the arena of intellectual property. These proposals highlight the significance of fostering supportive settings that empower female inventors, and innovators to safeguard and use their intellectual assets. This paper intends to provide values and ideas to the ongoing discussions related to ensuring gender equality in intellectual property.
