Hague Marriage Convention In Private International Laws

ABSTRACT

The Hague Convention of 14 March 1978 on the Celebration and Recognition of the Validity of Marriages may be interpreted as implementing, for international and particularly cross-border situations, The author attempted to demonstrate how the Hague Convention tends to overcome obstacles by facilitating marriage celebrations and ensuring the legitimacy of marriages across national borders. Part I of the Convention addresses marriage celebrations, whereas Part II addresses marriage recognition.
