Illegal Downloading And Its Ethical Concerns

ABSTRACT


The purpose of this study is to examine the rise in cases of illegal downloading throughout the years with the emergence of new technologies. This paper provides a detailed analysis of the consequences associated with the widespread of illegal downloading practices and also reviews the economical and ethical implications of illegal downloading. The rapid increase in cases of illegal downloading has been influenced by various factors like high prices, accessibility, new technological approaches and significantly more. The setup of legal framework has introduced a balance between the rights of a user and illegal activities to protect the content of the original creators and authors. Most people become a part of this illegal practice due to lack of knowledge and awareness. With the advancement and development of technology, we received a significant amount of benefits in all the fields and sectors of our society which has profited both the creators and the viewers or internet users, but with these enormous advancements, many people get involved in illegal downloading of data via unauthorized means. This paper aims at preventing the illegal downloads and spreading awareness about the legal consequences of online piracy by decreasing the costs, maximized use of anti-piracy software.
