Dr. Paras Chaudhary, University of Delhi

ABSTRACT

This article explores the evolution of conflict resolution approaches in response to shifting global dynamics and the complexities of contemporary armed conflicts. Paraphrasing key insights from the original text, the article discusses the transition from traditional 'standard treatment' methods to modern conflict resolution strategies, emphasizing the centrality of peacebuilding, regional partnerships, and multilateral cooperation. It highlights the challenges posed by geopolitical fractures, gaps in multilateral prevention architecture, and the imperative for collective action. Proposing a 'New Agenda for Peace' outlined by the UN Secretary-General, the article advocates for innovative and collaborative approaches to address the multifaceted risks of conflict and promote sustainable peace and security.
