Legal Literacy is a vehicle that attempts to take cognizance of the innate potential of every child with a positive lens. It focuses on seeing that no child is born a criminal and therefore, to ensure an enabling and conducive environment in all social spaces of interaction there is a need to make each and every individual aware about preventive and pro-motive laws that ensure the exercise of Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties and without any inhibitions. - Gouri Srivastava

ABSTRACT

Legal Literacy is an important domain of knowledge in the present century. It is the need of the hour to make children and all the stakeholders aware about their rights and duties for the functioning of democracy. Legal awareness would enable students and stakeholders to address all forms of conflict and violence that impact progress and development. This area has been acquiring criticality in the present digital age and in the era of globalisation where learning to live together is a prerequisite for achieving the goal of global peace and harmony. Legal literacy would enable the future generation committed citizens of the nation respecting the rights and duties of all. It would instill in them the values related to law abiding citizens of the country working for the welfare and betterment of all.
