Muskan, Assistant Professor, School of Law, Starex University, Gurugram, Haryana

ABSTRACT

Ever since the use of internet arrived, it proved to be a fixed asset in human life. All the works could be done with the speed multiplied and solutions verified. The ease of doing work somehow made us more reliant towards it and at the end of the day we found all the solutions to our problem via this tool. It becomes an integral part of our life as the unaddressed issues were now just a click away from their solutions. This also meant that there was a large amount of data that was uploaded on the devices and into the internet world for which the user or the provider of the information expected security and privacy. However, the high rate of criminal activities in this field has shaken the trust of a user.

This particular technology served as a boon for the initial years till the moment crime did not foray into its sphere. Not only this, the criminal activities in this area are so serious in nature that if calculated, the security of a whole nation may be at risk. The cybercrime rates have been rising at an alarming rate making it difficult to control the situation.
