ABSTRACT

"Planet in Peril: Unveiling the Nexus of Climate Change, Health, and Environmental Justice through Global Legal Perspectives" is a comprehensive research paper that explores the complex and interconnected issues of climate change, human health, and environmental justice within the framework of global legal perspectives. The paper highlights the far-reaching impacts of climate change on human health, including heat-related illnesses, respiratory problems, extreme weather events, vector-borne diseases, mental health impacts, and water scarcity. The study emphasizes the disproportionate effects of climate change on vulnerable populations, particularly low-income communities and marginalized groups, underscoring the significance of environmental justice in addressing these disparities. It underscores the critical role of legal frameworks in tackling the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change and promoting equitable and sustainable solutions. This research analyses the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its influence in shaping global legal frameworks for climate change action. It examines the challenges and limitations of existing legal frameworks, including slow international negotiations, weak enforcement mechanisms, inadequate funding, and coverage gaps. Furthermore, this paper also explores key aspects for enhancing legal frameworks, such as inclusive decision-making processes, the protection of vulnerable communities, and access to justice. It highlights the importance of international cooperation in addressing climate change and the significance of public participation in climate change decision-making. In conclusion, "Planet in Peril: Unveiling the Nexus of Climate Change, Health, and Environmental Justice through Global Legal Perspectives" calls for comprehensive and just solutions to the intertwined challenges of climate change, human health, and environmental justice. The research emphasizes the need to strengthen legal frameworks, promote equity and inclusivity, and foster global collaboration to mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change and build a sustainable future for all.
