ABSTRACT


This abstract presents an analytical investigation into the whistleblowing mechanism in India, emphasizing its significance in fostering transparency and accountability within society. Whistleblowing involves the disclosure or public exposure of illicit activities, corruption, and misconduct. Despite potential risks such as retaliation, loss of employment, strained relationships, and adverse effects on mental health faced by whistleblowers, the consequences of not reposting can also be severe. To protect whistleblowers’ wellbeing and cultivate a culture of whistleblowing in workplaces, it is essential to enforce rules and regulations that provide safeguards. This ensures that organisation remain free from fraudulent and illegal practices, safeguarding them and mitigating risks to society. The research findings contribute to the ongoing discourse on improving transparency, accountability, and effective governance in India. The expectation is that these finding will serve as a guide for policymakers, organizations, and stakeholders in implementing necessary reforms to protect to protect whistleblowers and promote a culture of integrity.
