Protecting The Vulnerable: Defending Child Rights In The Era Of Cyber Crime

ABSTRACT


Cyber crime is the term for illegal behaviours that happen in the digital environment, particularly online. Hacking, online fraud, identity theft, cyber bullying, online harassment, and the dissemination of damaging or illegal content are just a few of the illegal actions that fall under the umbrella of "cybercrimes."


A crucial component of safeguarding kids in the digital age is addressing their rights about cybercrime. Children's rights must be respected in order to protect them from the many hazards they face online and to maintain their safety and wellbeing. Children have the right to life, survival, and development. They also have the right to protection against abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.

The purpose of this paper is to study how cybercrime affects children's mental and physical health. The doctrinal technique is used in this paper. The focus is on analysing and applying legal resources, such as agreements, rules, case law, statutes, and legal commentary.


The effect of cybercrime on children has already been discussed in a number of studies. The title emphasises how important it is to deal with the difficulties that develop when these two topics collide. It emphasises the significance of respecting children's fundamental rights as they traverse the online world and advises that we must take proactive steps to protect children's rights in the face of cybercrime and other obstacles that children face up to in today's technologically advanced society.
