Mr. Yatish Pachauri, Assistant Professor (Senior Scale), School of Law, UPES Dehradun

ABSTRACT

Sexual Violence is not limited only to a region specific, but it happened all over the world in different forms. Majority of woman has suffered once in her lifetime as a victim of sexual violence, but the blunder here is most of the time they weren’t aware that they are being abused by their Friends, Family members, relatives, and closed ones of their family. International law and domestic law prohibit sexual violence against women in any form. The more pathetic situation is during any of armed conflict in any nation or at the war situation. During these no law could protect any women from sexual violence and no authority will give them any justice. Most of the time Law always set deterrence when the perpetrators are convicted of the offenses committed against a woman, but this is failed during war or any of armed conflicts. Though International conventions tries to protect and control War crimes against any vulnerable section of the society, but still, these offenses aren’t eradicated. It is high time to find new aspects and ways to control sexual violence globally.
