ABSTRACT

This papers describes about the History of Textile showrooms and perspective view of legislation with The Tamilnadu Shops and Establishments Act 1947. Further it briefly explained about the awareness of the The Tamilnadu Shops and Establishments Act 1947. It also contained about association for the textile showroom workers. Describes the Social Security legislations -backbone of all workers through the ILO conventions and its constitutional backup in India. It describes the problems faced by Textile – showroom workers. - Reveals the data analysis of legal knowledge and awareness of the social security legislation of the respondents. - Evolution and growth of social security in India-Social security legislations- Problems Faced by the Textile-showroom Workers- The Tamilnadu textile- showroom workers face poor working condition-Problems faced by male and female workers- about MSD problems- Problems faced by female workers- Sexual Harassment, Unequal pay, Poor security, Insufficient maternity leaves-Tackling problems faced by female workers-Need and Expectations of female workers-Data Analysis-Categories of Textile showrooms-Basic information of Textile showroom workers in and surrounding areas-Benefits provided by showroom owners to the workers -Knowledge about the Social security legislations of the workers in Textile showrooms-Basic problems of all workers and Specific problems facing by female workers.
