ABSTRACT
Sports arbitration has experienced significant expansion and change in India, where it is now a vital means of settling conflicts in the sports industry. In order to provide light on the significance of arbitration as a conflict resolution process and the difficulties associated with the enforcement of arbitral rulings in the Indian legal system, this research paper examines the changing role of arbitration in the Indian sports scene. The first section of the article gives a general review of arbitration's importance in India and highlights how well it works to streamline sports-related dispute resolution, especially when it comes to national and international sports organizations. It explores the salient characteristics of arbitration as a favoured means of settling conflicts in the sports world, including its speed, confidentiality, and impartiality. Additionally, it demonstrates how Indian arbitration conforms to global norms, granting athletes, sports organizations, and other parties involved easier access to justice. This paper's second main topic is on arbitral awards' enforcement in India. The study negotiates the difficulties and complications that parties attempting to implement arbitral rulings must deal with, including any obstacles that may arise from the Indian judicial system. It looks at the laws that control the execution of awards and assesses the most recent changes and advancements made to Indian arbitration law to bring it into compliance with global norms. The paper also sheds light on the judicial interpretation of verdicts and the variables influencing their enforceability in India by providing insights into case law and real-world experiences. This research paper concludes by highlighting the critical function that sports arbitration plays in India and the significance of this role in promoting effective dispute resolution in the sports sector. It also covers the changing legal landscape that governs the enforcement of arbitral rulings, providing a nuanced viewpoint on the potential and difficulties that this field presents. This study adds to the larger conversation on sports legislation and dispute resolution procedures by enabling a greater understanding of sports arbitration and enforcement in India.
