ABSTRACT

E-commerce has completely changed how business is done throughout the world, and India is not an exception to this game-changing development. This abstract examines how e-commerce is developing in India with a particular emphasis on the vital topic of consumer safety. The need to protect consumer rights and safety has increased significantly with the explosive rise of internet commerce. This article looks at the new e-commerce trends and the steps the Indian government as well as regulatory agencies have done to protect the interests of its citizens. It explores the legislative frameworks designed to promote accountability, openness, and equitable practices in online commerce, including the Consumer Protection Act along with e- commerce standards.

The abstract also emphasises the potential and difficulties associated with successfully regulating e-commerce platforms in order to protect consumer rights in the context of the ever-evolving digital economy. This abstract gives insights into the changing dynamics of the Indian e-commerce environment and makes recommendations for boosting customer trust and confidence in online transactions by examining the relationship between e-commerce as well as consumer protection.
