ABSTRACT

The modern era in criminal investigations has been launched in by rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), that has significant impact on various industries. The current research examines that AI is revolutionizing forensics that it might be employed for enhancing accuracy, speed, and efficacy of forensic investigations. The method that forensic specialists accumulate, examine, and present evidence has evolved as a result of AI- driven technologies including machine learning (ML), facial recognition (FR), data mining, and natural language processing (NLP). The paper discusses how AI has enhanced traditional forensic methods, allowing for more reliable data interpretation, improving the identification of suspects, and aiding in the resolution of complex criminal cases that may otherwise have remained unsolved.

Crime scene analysis has been transformed by incorporation of AI into forensic science, permitting professionals to rapidly examine vast amounts of information, identify patterns, and predict criminal activity. The research additionally discusses AI's applications in digital forensics, cybersecurity, and forensic pathology, where it can analyze enormous amounts of data and establish connections instantly has made it a vital tool. Current research further explores ethical and legal concerns concerning application of AI in forensics, addressing concerns regarding bias, privacy, and validity of AI- driven evidence in courtrooms, utilizing case studies and international reports.

AI application in forensic investigations remains relatively recent in India. However, the potential for AI to enhance criminal justice systems in developing countries is immense. This paper examines the unique challenges faced by India in integrating AI technologies into its existing forensic infrastructure, including legal, technical, and social barriers. Research concludes with recommendations for the future of AI in forensics, emphasizing significance of developing ethical frameworks, ensuring that AI algorithms are transparent, and investing in forensic professionals' AI training. By shedding light on the ongoing evolution of forensic science in the digital age, this research aims to demonstrate the critical role AI will play in shaping the future of crime detection and legal justice worldwide.
