Soumya Chaware, University of Mumbai Law Academy, Mumbai

ABSTRACT

Artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining the legal profession by automating procedures, enhancing decision-making, and changing legal practice standard. AI is a valuable tool in the legal sector, but it is not without hazards and should be approached with caution. The integration of artificial intelligence into legal processes has caused a fundamental shift in the legal environment, creating a complex interplay of difficulties and opportunities for both the legal profession and the judicial system. The purpose of this research is to determine whether AI serves as a disruptive force or an evolutionary aid in the legal profession. The paper examines the many ways in which AI is integrated into legal practice to assess whether AI is fundamentally altering the landscape of legal work or improving current procedures and capabilities. By examining whether AI operates as a disruptive force or an evolutionary tool in the legal profession. This paper aims to give insights that will help legal practitioners, policymakers, and stakeholders navigate the difficulties and possibilities posed by AI. Understanding the implications of AI for the legal profession is critical for maximizing its benefits while minimizing possible hazards.
