ABSTRACT:
This paper critically examines the legal and ethical challenges posed by the rapid shift to remote work in the post-COVID-19 era. The transition has exposed significant gaps in existing employment laws, particularly regarding working hours, workplace safety, employee privacy, and the evolving dynamics of employer-employee relationships. By analyzing recent legislative trends, regulatory responses, and key case studies, this paper highlights the inadequacies of current legal frameworks in addressing the unique demands of remote work environments. It explores how remote work complicates traditional notions of workplace oversight and employee protection, raising questions about the future of employment law. Furthermore, this study provides a comparative analysis of different jurisdictions' approaches to regulating remote work, offering insights into best practices and areas needing reform. The paper concludes with recommendations for legal and policy measures to enhance protections for remote workers, ensuring fair and safe working conditions in this new landscape.
