The Legal Metamorphosis - A Dive Into Legal Outsourcing In India

Ashima Sharma, Amity University, Noida

ABSTRACT

Legal process outsourcing (LPO) has rapidly evolved over the past two decades, reshaping the legal industry by transferring legal work from high- cost jurisdictions to lower-cost destinations, with India being a central player. This research paper provides a comprehensive examination of LPO in India, delving into its growth drivers, global implications, and the multifaceted challenges it encounters. India's prominence in the LPO arena stems from a combination of factors, including a skilled legal workforce and cost-efficient labour markets. These advantages, coupled with technological advancements, have made India an attractive destination for outsourced legal services.
