90 Years Since The Snail In The Bottle: Donoghue V Stevenson

ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the famous snail in the bottle case i.e. Donoghue v Stevenson, in which the verdict was passed by the House of Lords in 1932. It discusses the facts of case, and the aftermath of the verdict which is quite an infamous myth. It also discusses the questions of law involved in the case and how were they decided upon. It highlights the judgements of each of the 5 judges on the Bench for this case and their exact words said. Finally it discusses the consequences of the of the case and the impact it has had on the legal system throughout the world.
