A Critical Analysis Of The Government Of The National Capital Territory Of Delhi (GNCTD) (Amendment) Act, 2021

ABSTRACT


The enactment of this controversial Act has just added fuel to the fire. It has lead to escalation of the ever-ongoing power tussle between the Delhi Government and Centre. This Article critically analyses the act in question, comments upon the constitutionality and gives a detailed explanation of the Effects of the Act.


Firstly, it explains the effect of the amendment act in detail, then it goes on to analyse the constitutionality of the Act - if it is violative of the basic structure of the constitution, further it goes on to explain how the said act contravenes a Major Judgement of the Apex court of India.
