A Critical Analysis Of White-Collar Crime In The Corporate Arena

Aswathi Sukumaran & Dr. P. V. Nagendra Sarma

ABSTRACT

White-collar crime is a topic that often makes the headlines in the contemporary day. As their nomenclature suggests, it is illicit activities perpetrated by individuals of professional standing, taking advantage of their expertise and talent. The article proceeds to underscore the enduring pertinence and efficacy of the notion as a mechanism to illustrate the ongoing transition of criminal activities towards the white-collar variety within the educated and privileged strata of society, now occurring on a more expansive magnitude than previously observed. This is particularly noteworthy that the rising tide of white-collar criminality has emerged as a universal occurrence in tandem with the progress of commerce and technology. Similar to numerous other nations, India finds itself ensnared within the clutches of white-collar crime to an equal extent. This article makes a comprehensive study of white-collar crime, its characteristics, and its different types. Further recommends the ways to be adopted to minimize the crimes.
