A Multi-Dimensional Analysis Of Laws Relating To Rape

ABSTRACT


In this paper, the researcher elaborates on the rationale behind the rape law guidelines and its evolution. The paper further gives a multi-dimensional analysis of India and a global perspective on the reform of rape laws and its present position. The research has taken into account several Law Commission Reports, the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 2013 and the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 2018. Further, this paper discusses the need for these amendments and the face of rape laws globally, like in Germany, France, Italy and Arab Countries and compares it to Indian Rape Law. Therefore, this research mainly focuses on addressing the major lacunas in not only Indian law but also a global perspective on the reform of rape laws and its present position.
