ABSTRACT


Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS), a distressing form of child abuse, is a deeply concerning issue that demands comprehensive understanding and awareness. This paper explores Shaken Baby Syndrome in great depth with historical background, delving into its complexities, the factors that contribute to its occurrence, the fundamental rights for infants in Indian Constitution, the signs and immediate and long term symptoms, the far-reaching consequences it has on affected infants and their families, international comparison about status of such cases, strategies for prevention and education for awareness, and the legal ramifications for perpetrators those who are responsible they will face serious consequences. Our aim is to provide an extensive data resource for readers seeking to comprehend the multifaceted nature of this tragic phenomenon.
