Vishakha Jaiprakash Thanvi, BA-LLB, TMV’s Lokmenya Tilak Law College, Kharghar

INTRODUCTION

In India, being born a male is a crime. It’s also a serious felony to marry an Indian girl. And it’s all because of the existing laws that discriminate against men in the name of protecting women.”

Is it a matter of the EGO or the SPIRIT? India is frequently chastised for its shoddy treatment of women, but has it ever considered women bothering a men? In India, men’s rights campaigners recently won a big win when the Supreme Court declared them to be the victims of domestic violence. However, the courts did not make the law gender-neutral. They said that Indian women were making false domestic violence charges. According to a report, the most misused law in india is of rape that is Section 376 of IPC as 2 out of every 10 rape case filed is false and is just filed over the heat of moment over trivial issues. Abuse of law by women has become very common in our society nowadays, therefore the researcher in this paper tends to identify extent of misuse and the impact of same on male centric society in the country.
