ABSTRACT


The paper deals with the introduction to the Narcotic drugs bureau in India. With the increased usage of drugs and psychotropic substances in India, there was a need to constitute an agency solely responsible to deal with this issue. The Bureau has been incorporated by the virtue of The Narcotic and PsychotropicSubstance Act 1985. It also deals with the need and impact of the NarcoticBureau in Indian society. It also deals with the impact that has been created with the constitution of the Bureau. It analyses that how drug abuse affects the public health system. It also studies the challenges that have been faced and emerging owing to drug abuse.
