An Outlook Of Judicial Review In India

ABSTRACT

The Judiciary is the third wing of the government that interprets and applies the law in the Republic of India. To preserve rule of law for good governance, the judicial system which is independent is essential. As mentioned earlier for better governance of the country, the judicial system plays a vital role. The Judicial administration is a vital concern of a civilized society. The essential function of the judiciary is not only enforcement of rights and liabilities between and among individuals but also protection of the individual against the arbitrary acts of the government and the protection of society itself against the lawless individual, this is considered as vital in a democracy. Judiciary is always committed for the upliftment of the poor subjected to the procedural and codified laws. This paper is to analyse the concept and the constitutionality of the Judicial Review doctrine with special reference to India
