An Overview Of The Right To Information Act In India

Bhavna Singh, Amity University, Maharashtra

ABSTRACT

This research paper aims to examine the right to information as a fundamental human right, its legal and constitutional provisions, and the current state of implementation in India. The paper analyses the impact of the right to information on transparency, accountability, and good governance, as well as its role in promoting democracy and citizen participation. The findings suggest that while the right to information has become widely recognized as a crucial element of democracy and good governance, there remain significant gaps in its implementation and enforcement. The paper also examines the benefits and challenges associated with the right to information.
