ABSTRACT
This research paper is a critical investigation of Google's dominance in the digital economy within the framework of antitrust law, with respect to its exclusionary conduct, favouring treatment of its services, and mastery over data and market infrastructure. It explores the effects of approaches like bundling, algorithm manipulation, and exclusivity agreements on market competition and consumer choice. The research also delves into Google's role in new markets such as AI and digital payments, where oversight is still developing. Cross-country insights drawn from the EU, USA, and India give a worldwide perspective on enforcement. The paper highlights the shortcomings of ex post facto penalties and advocates for preventive, data- integrated antitrust policy. In so doing, it joins the wider conversation on how to ensure fair competition in increasingly digitized markets.
