ABSTRACT
This article explores how federalism, as outlined in the Indian constitution, protects welfare, justice, and collective rights. It emphasizes how governments can test out local solutions for underprivileged populations through affirmative action laws, which are permitted by Articles 15 and 16, promoting social justice through democratic decentralization. The collaborative features of federalism are also examined in the study, especially in fields where center-state cooperation is essential for the successful implementation of policies, such as education and disaster management. In order to close inequalities in access to rights and advance social change, the conclusion highlights how crucial it is to interpret federalism in accordance with the principles outlined in Parts III and IV of the Constitution.
