ABSTRACT


The unprecedented emergence of autonomous weapon systems in the 21st century raises serious concerns with regards to global security. The ethical, legal, and moral implications of these developments pose significant challenges for the stability of the world, making it important for all countries to reach a consensus on their effective regulation. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the complex landscape surrounding autonomous weapons, addressing their evolution. The lacunas in the existing legal framework. The paper further analyses the impact of AWS from an ethical and security perspective. It also mentions numerous efforts being taken as well as the models being proposed for regulating AWS.
