ABSTRACT
Traditional medical practices in India, including Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), are being promoted by theMinistry of AYUSH, which was established in 2014. This ministry plays a significantrole in the promotion of these practices. It is the mission of the ministry to improve the health and well-being of the general population by implementing programmes that are centered on research, disease prevention, and health promotion. Through the incorporation of Ayushman Utsav (AYUSH) into national health policies and programmes, such as the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, the Ministry of Health can guarantee that traditional healthcare services are available to all individuals, particularly those living in rural areas. In addition, the ministry places a strong emphasis on education, research, standardization, and quality control in traditional medicine practices. This is done in order to cultivate professionals who are adept in their field and to guarantee that AYUSH treatments are both effective and safe. With the help of international partnerships, the ministry intends to spread awareness about AYUSH on a global scale, with the goal of increasing its recognition and accessibility across the globe. Despite criticisms regarding the lack of scientific evidence for certain Ayurvedic treatments, the efforts of the ministry have had a significant impacton public health in India. These efforts have resulted in the provision of additional options for wellness and treatment, the preservation of India's traditional medical heritage, and an increase in public acceptance through scientific validation.
