Balancing Well-Being By Bridging Gaps In Society: A Study Navigating Nexus Between Injustice, Mental Health And Crime In India

ABSTRACT:


In a world where crimes have heightened and society at a certain stage catalases the commission of crime, it has become crucial to discuss about the social injustice that is still prevalent especially in India. It is necessary to understand that justice goes beyond its literal meaning and has become a complex necessity involving institutional and personal relationships. Further justice also involves justice through respecting each other and promotion a sense of equality if not equity. While most research paper highlights crimes which were a result of childhood experience where the primary groups like family, friends, peer groups end up being responsible, there are very few which highlights society being the cause of criminal behavior by an individual. It is important to consider both primary and secondary groups when dealing with individuals as these groups are capable of influencing an individual. Furthermore, it is significant to highlight that unaddressed mental health challenges especially among the labor section of the society often leads to crimes like serial killing. This paper deals with addressing situations where equality is compromised thus giving birth to crimes. This paper also aims to highlight how behavior people of the environment or society in general lead to the commission of crime.
