ABSTRACT
Sexual harassment is a prevailing issue that disrupts the harmony of human interactions. It is a stark violation of personal boundaries and a reflection of power imbalances that can permeate workplaces and societies. This unethical behavior generally constitutes unwelcoming verbal comments, hand gestures, or actions of sexual nature that can toggle an immense sense of discomfort, fear, embarrassment, and humiliation for the victim. In response to the pressing need for protection and redress, the Protection of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act 2013 emerged as a legal safeguard, offering hope. The Act stands as a testament to the recognition of individuals' rights and the acknowledgment that sexual harassment is not to be tolerated in any sphere of life, particularly within the confines of employment. This act brings a sense of belief that every person should have the unassailable right to work without enduring the corrosive effects of sexual harassment. It reflects a society's commitment to rectifying imbalances and injustices, striving for an equitable world where all individuals can achieve their fullest potential, unburdened by fear and discrimination.
This research paper investigates sexual harassment prevention in the workplace, delving into awareness, experiences, and reporting dynamics. It highlights the nuances of workplace harassment, the impact on work performance, and the effectiveness of organizational responses. The findings underscore the imperative of continuously improving policies and practices to create a safe and respectful work environment.
