Copyright As Property And Its Assignment

Samridhi Goswami, GLA University, Mathura

ABSTRACT

Assignment of copyright is transfer of the intellectual property, either wholly or a part thereof. It is different from the transfer of and ordinary property. Here, an intangible property is assigned to a person, by its owner. The assignment deed of an intellectual property need not be mandatorily registered under the Registration Act because of its nature being intangible, it is one of its special features. Along with this, there are certain questions that arise with assignment. The objective of this research paper is to understand more about assignment and their pros and cons.
