ABSTRACT
The critical analysis of development-induced displacement in Northeastern India highlights the significant challenges affected communities face. It discusses the historical, socio-economic, and political context, highlighting the need for a holistic understanding ofthe issue. The chapters in the critical analysis of this research paper explore the impact on affected communities, including social, economic, and environmental consequences, while also discussing coping mechanisms and the role of NGOs.
Government policies and their deficiencies in addressing displacement challenges are examined. The chapters stress the importance of transparency, community participation, and environmental safeguards in policy formulation.
Also, the analysis dives deep into the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and their advocacy efforts, legal assistance, and monitoring functions. It highlights the importanceof NGOs in raising awareness, providing rehabilitation and skill development programs, and ensuring accountability.
