Digital Signature Authentication In E-Commerce

Introduction

E-commerce shares a close relationship with the penetration of internet into the human life, leading to a growth of customers registering and buying things online, with the help of mobile phones. India is seen as a developing sector of e-commerce, with various kinds of projects getting approved with regard to the broadband connection, making the internet penetration even more accessible to all parts of the country. This e-commerce operates without the need of any physical contact, and its authentication has also developed a long way in recent times. The presence of technology helps out to bring carious modes of technologies, to authenticate the documents1, identify the parties, make online transactions and get the product through online mode. The electronic authentication is permitted under the Information Technology Act of 2000, where these signatures are treated are par with handwritten signatures, and they are being recognized by an asymmetric crypto system. The central government appoints a person called “Controller of Certifying Authorities (CAA)”, who issues the electronic authentication certificates, aiming to promote the scope of e-commerce more for a better tomorrow.
