Keshav Sethi, Sethi & Association

Introduction

In a country like India where according to statistics research done in the year 2020 where it was found that there are 108 meals per 100 females which is otherwise since centuries have been known as a male chauvinistic country. Domestic violence is violence which occurs in domestic life often seen in marriage or cohabitation. It can take shape into multiple forms including physical, intimate, emotional as well as sexual abuse.

The banner of this patriarchal society which have been given to India is to some extent with respect to our previous centuries, is true. But the world as we know today is evolving at a much faster rate than one can anticipate. With the changing times which is happening in our country we are proud of the nation. We are witnessing advancement in so many sectors, our leaders are building a strong image of our country for the world to see us as a modern society. What else could a citizen of today’s world would want?

Time and again we have seen that if we do not learn from our mistakes, we would lead the world into a more chaotic place then it is already has been. With the pace of this change we as a society are leading our country’s legal statutes into chaos from which we might not even recover. This chaos is called domestic violence against A man. It might make some people laugh but this problem is rooting into our society into an unimaginable pace. Our lawmakers combined with the society have failed to abide by the Article 14 of the Indian Constitution towards men as there is no equal status given to a man as compared to woman in the eyes of law. Law has started to pile up over one after the another without abiding the very basic statutes of the Indian constitution. The laws which is empowering women in India is leading the same India into grounds than it can even imagine. The laws which are not only empowering the today’s woman but also keeping them legally shielded against any kind abuse is keeping the other gender deprived of the same.
