ABSTRACT
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, an all-around intellectual and social dynamo, left no stone unturned in making life better for downtrodden communities in India. This paper puts forth his contribution to human rights, highlighting his indefatigable fight for the empowerment of depressed classes, women, and laborers. He deeply marked the Indian Constitution with salient features of liberty, equality, and fraternity while advocating social justice as well as equality. His concern extended across national frontiers to form global civil rights movements and organize social reform.
This paper is an analysis of Ambedkar's viewpoint on human rights concerning his battle with the caste system and his endeavor to form a just society. It scrutinizes his efforts to counter unjustified practices and uplift the female sex and their rights in the patriarchal continuum. The paper also embodies the way Ambedkar condemned the social evils of untouchability and endogamy, which provided the base for inequality and social division. Ambedkar became the founder of institutions like the Bahishkrit Hitkarni Sabha and also used publications like Mook Nayak and Bahishkrit Bharat as media mobilizing communities to spread his ideals. The unassailable social, economic, and political democracy that Ambedkar sought serves as a beacon for the contemporary struggle against poverty, oppression, and fundamental human rights for all. His legacy of ensuring such rights continues to inspire movements for social justice and equality worldwide. The study strengthens the argument that Ambedkar's principles are vital for establishing a truly fair world.
