ABSTRACT


Marriage is the essence under the tradition of Hindu. Irretrievable breakdown of marriage refers to a situation where one or both of the spouses are not willingly to live together. By adding irretrievable breakdown of marriage as a ground might affect the whole essence of marriage under Hindus as it is a religious sacrament. This paper deals with the same aspect. The current paper delineates the various affect that an institution of marriage might have to undergo, upon addition of irretrievable breakdown of marriage under section 13 of the Hindu marriage act 1955. Moreover, the essence of marriage is deeply revered in Hinduism. This paper also aims at looking at how will these aspects are considered in the same light.
