Forensic Analysis Of Social Virtual Reality: An Emerging Platform For Cyber Offences

ABSTRACT


Social Virtual Reality (SVR) has become a well-liked platform for online communication, particularly among teens looking to communicate and socialize. Teens are drawn to it because of the variety of immersive activities, opportunities for social interaction, and users of various ages and interests. Teenagers' perceptions of the new online social world do have some troublesome characteristics, particularly when it comes to what elements can encourage or discourage them from SVR. Crimes have been organized as a result of reliance on virtual communication channels. Due to the Internet’s anonymity and new criminal tendencies, people are committing crimes online that they would not otherwise. The potential for creating several identities may serve as a motivator for illegal action.


This article deals with the common problems of teenager’s activity in virtual space. The paper will highlight the interest areas of teenagers in virtual space and their larger (defined or distracted) goals and highlight on the practice of Forensic Investigative Tools that can be used to trace the modes of cybercrimes. Secondly, the author tries to explain cross-border cyber crime which is affecting physical space with the help of recent cases which also includes cybercrime jurisdiction issue with respect to cross-border matters. The paper concludes with the suggestions of the author relating to these issues.
