ABSTRACT

The research topic ‘growth of intellectual property rights and their impact on developing countries will unfold the historic development of IPR and trademark laws in India and the legal rights of individuals or organization that own intellectual property. Intellectual Property Rights are the exclusive right of the inventor’s original work which is protected by the government of India. Intellectual property rights include patents, trademarks, Industrial Design, Copyrights and traditional knowledge that are recognized by the Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights Agreement (TRIPS) and governed by World Trade Organization (WTO). In the present paper, the development of Intellectual Property in India, its dimensions and importance of IPR in developing countries and its impact are discussed.
