Incorporating Artificial Intelligence Into The Legal Sector: A Formal Analysis

ABSTRACT
The contemporary era, marked by rapid globalisation and technological advancement, has witnessed the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors, including the legal industry. Courts, law firms, and legal practitioners are increasingly utilising AI technologies such as machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and computer vision to perform tasks including legal research, contract review, and case outcome prediction. The integration of AI into legal practice presents significant opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. However, it also raises critical concerns regarding privacy, bias, and accountability. This article offers a comprehensive overview of AI and its diverse applications within the legal sector.
This article aims to critically examine the benefits and challenges associated with the use of AI in legal practice, as well as to discuss the ethical and legal ramifications inherent in the adoption of AI within judicial systems. Furthermore, it analyses the prospective impact of AI on the Indian legal landscape and the evolving role of legal practitioners. International standards and future pathways for a balanced and constructive transformation of the legal sector through AI are also explored.
