Jammu And Kashmir: Analysing Progress Since The Modification Of Article 370

ABSTRACT

Jammu and Kashmir has always been a contentious situation. On August 5, 2019, On the recommendation of The President of India, Home Minister introduced a bill in the Rajya Sabha to amend Articles 370 and 35A. Jammu and Kashmir was given a unique status under the Article. The Bill also suggested dividing Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories i.e. Ladakh and Jammu Kashmir. Four different legislation pertaining to the revision of Article 370 were submitted to and approved by majority in the Upper House and Lower House of the Parliament of India. While understanding its historical trajectories, the present research article attempts to analyse the impact of the modification of Article 370. The research article will try to examine the progress of Union Territory Jammu Kashmir since then.
