Juvenile Delinquency In India – Latest Trends And Entailing Amendments In Juvenile Justice System

ABSTRACT


Crime rate is increasing daily in India and the most shocking trend that can be noticed is that it is upheaving Juveniles too. There is a trend of increase in juvenile crimes worldwide, with more and more involvement of Juveniles in violent crimes. However, It is a very serious concern of the nation, and solutions to end the problem need to be sought very carefully. Indian legal system and judiciary have responded to these trends and brought some amendments to the laws of Juvenile Justice in India. The Juvenile Justice Act is basically for the protection, treatment, and rehabilitation of Juveniles who have committed a crime due to some influential factors. The problem of Juvenile delinquency requires special attention and a child-friendly approach toward the protection and prevention of children from becoming deviants.
